TAXIDERMY SERVICE
McPherson’s Taxidermy is our local taxidermy partner. Ryan began experimenting with Longnose Gar mounts for us last year and we are excited to offer this service to our clients for the 2022 season.

An electrician and business owner, pandemic shifts and changes in business compelled Ryan McPherson to pursue his passion for taxidermy. He is a terrific resource for fisherman and hunters looking for superb taxidermy décor.

From standard to unique, commemorative to trophy, Ryan’s work is detailed and he has incredible instinct to showcase your prized catch and game. His aesthetic is driven by the desire to create a realistic piece that appears natural and alive with expression and movement.
GAR PROCESS & PRICING
Mounting costs vary from $350 - $500 based on size/length and base selection. There’s no fiberglass mold or form for the gar; the work is entirely custom. This is true taxidermy at its finest; you will receive the exoskeleton and jaw of the actual fish you caught. Ryan will contact and work with you on positioning and display.

With taxidermy selection, your Longnose Gar will be tagged with Rite in Rain stock and moved from the boat to our 6 ft chest freezer for pickup.
​
As more taxidermy supplies become available post Covid disruption, Ryan will expand his services to include all your trophy fish you catch with True Grit Bowfishing.
