Owner and Guide Chris Gilmore is thrilled to be able to take you out on the water and introduce or celebrate your newest addiction: Bowfishing.
A lifelong outdoors enthusiast, your captain and guide, Chris Gilmore grew up in rural Pennsvlvania. Wild experiences began as the only way to burn off the hell raising energy of boyhood; mountain biking, hiking, fishing and swimming in the quarry. In his grandfather’s and father’s footsteps, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served in the gulf for Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
Stationed in Puerto Rico, he spent long days in the Caribbean fishing, spearfishing and diving when he wasn’t at work or sea. After his second tour of duty, Chris returned to civilian life to pursue his passion for building and design. The owner of Integrity Renovation since 2010, Chris approached True Grit Bowfishing with the same principles and focus on building an incredible client experience; albeit even more enthusiasm to make work all about the outdoors and fishing.
For the last decade, Chris cultivated a knowledge of fishing and hunting in the South. From wild boar to whitetail, from Largemouth Bass to Longnose Gar, Chris has invested every free moment in the woods and on the rivers and streams. He was a man after all kinds of game until he discovered bowfishing and he fell hard for the hybrid of fishing and hunting.
With bowfishing, “It’s not like fishing where you are depending on the fish to bite your hook. It’s up to your accuracy and skills to shoot it, fight it and catch it.” With bowfishing offering year-round action, Chris has shot hundreds of fish and it is exciting every time.
After traveling to New York to get the boat he envisioned, researching and procuring the best gear, learning about the spawns and cycles, and conducting numerous trips with friends, he is thrilled to provide you with an unparalleled bowfishing experience.
